MADL Little Foot Trust

The Proudfoot Group has donated £500 to The Little Foot Trust which is a small trust that takes children from socially deprived areas in and around Scarborough on an educational and cultural trip once a year.

The charity works with headteachers from local schools to select 12 children aged 10 or 11 to take on the trip to advance their education and allow them to visit places that, given their social or economic circumstances, they would not have been able to visit.

The Proudfoot Group raised the £500 through the Making A Difference Locally (MADL) charity through its membership of Nisa. MADL is an independent registered charity created in 2008 by Nisa with the intention of assisting more than 2,000 independent retailers throughout the UK raise money for their local communities. The charity enables retailers to raise money through the sale of participating products promoted in store where a specified amount of the cost of the product is allocated to a fund. Retailers are then able to withdraw at any time and donate to local charities and good causes that they feel would benefit from a donation, in this case The Little Foot Trust.

Valerie Aston, of the Proudfoot Group commented, “We are pleased to be able to make this donation to The Little Foot Trust to allow children to experience and visit exciting places that they wouldn’t usually be able to visit.”

Tony Randerson, a trustee of the charity, said: “We are absolutely delighted to receive this very kind donation and were not expected to have been given so much so we would like to thank Proudfoots for choosing us. This donation will help very much in enabling us to take the children away on a week’s holiday to London in February.”
